I love that you appreciate the time before...but now it's a new season, and you are savoring life in a different way. My sense is that you always find the juice in whatever situation you inhabit. That's a wonderful legacy for your sweet boy as is the richness of your relationships with the beloved 4-leggeds. And how marvelous that Chris' well deserved hiatus will be full of together time, getting to know your son and getting to know each other in knew ways. The foundations you are laying now will enrich all your lives immensely. Thanks for letting us cheer you on from the sidelines.

This is so lovingly worded thank you so much for this lovely gift today. I love the visual that “finding the juice” gives me and I might just have to borrow that from you!! I think I’m more grateful than anything that we waited so long because we were really intentional about deciding to become parents. We also never for once took for granted that we may or may not be able to have children of our own. This really just feels like the biggest blessing and such a gift. ❤️

You're welcome. Children deserve to be intentional--the world is better for their presence. Not that children who come as a surprise can't be beloved and valuable and they, too, deserve parents who treat them as such...Find that juice, Lady! Drink it up--and feel free to spread the joy. xox

Yesterday we were driving back from a family event and I thought to myself, “Yay! Tomorrow we hear from Sarah again!”

Your son is going to be so well rounded and empathetic with the way you are raising him. With Chris out on paternity leave it will be an especially important time for all 3 of you to bond and make special memories that will last a lifetime!

Stay cool this week and give everyone kisses from Nonna Shelly.😘

We looove Nonna Shelly!! Hope you had fun at your event. And thank you for that…how sweet and kind of you to say. We keep laughing to each other that he’ll probably think we are totally nuts and so nerdy when he’s older but he definitely will know for sure how much we love him!!!

Maybe one day! Still not really sure about if/how much we’ll really share online and giving myself time not to rush that. And thank you. We’re really soaking it up!!!

My coffee & your Farm Note! That’s a perfect morning! I have no idea how you two get so much done now with your baby boy! I admire you both!

We were contemplating a trip east this Fall but life changes quickly. I’ll fill you in at some point. That has to be put on hold for now.

We had a family beach vacation the first week of June. My one daughter & her family were unable to join us so we only had 15 in our group this time . Our great-grandson experienced the sand & ocean for the first time. He turned one in February. So fun to watch!

It is pouring down rain right now. Thunder & lightning all over. Our rain gauge is filled to the top, which means over 8” this past week. Not good… But the corn looks fabulous behind us!

The heat will be roaring in tomorrow. Nothing but 90’s & high humidity. I remember the horrid heat a little over a year ago in Canton, RI! Wow! With no A/C even! It still was one of the greatest experiences of my life! 😉☺️

Our granddaughter is getting married in September so we’re all in wedding mode! She’s our first & she’s an amazing young woman! So proud of her! I call her my “Sunshine”! I would sing that song to her when she was a baby. Sweet memories.🥹🩷

Time to warm up my coffee! Have a great vacation with your baby boy! Chris, enjoy your paternity leave! Sarah, I’ll be in touch soon!

Sending lots of love & hugs! Kiss the boys for me!

Been thinking about you and hoping everything is ok. We have managed to get quite a lot done but that’s because our boy helps keep us on a tight schedule!! We promised ourselves when we were deciding to start a family that we wanted to try our best to have our child(ren) be part of our lives and not just let them consume everything about us. Glad to hear things are mostly good for you and looking forward to catching up. ❤️

Included, not consuming--so wise! I feel a little weird "liking" comments between you and family and friends, but it's all so warm and loving, how can I not?

Best wishes on the birth of your son! I have not been reading your emails for a while, and this was a pleasant surprise! Such a lucky kid to loving parents, plus all the farm animals to get to know and all the farm spaces to explore as he gets older.

Speaking of farm animals…how are the kitties? Is Black Kitty doing well? I’m one of her big fans.

Thank you for these updates. They takes me to a different place and time, which is lovely. Best wishes,

Aww thank you!! BK is doing great! She loves summertime on the farm and spends most of her days out on the patio sleeping in the sun, hunting birds and mice and leaving them at the back door to show us, and she sleeps in the bedroom with baby and I just about every night and goes to the same spot on the bed to give him and I enough space but also be right there with us. Shes such a special cat and I’m so glad we’ve been able to give her this farm life. Happy our boy is going to grow up with so many animals. Chris and I both did and it’s probably one of the biggest reasons we both love having so many animals ourselves!!!

I'm so happy to hear things are going well. Sounds like you're going to have a fabulous summer! Continue enjoying this time as it goes so fast! Thank you for the update!

Thank you Lydia! I truly had no clue I was going to enjoy motherhood this much. Silly me!!

Sounds like you all fallen into a lovely routine. Reading other comments, perhaps give your son a "LDF nickname" Sprout comes to my mind! I have a book suggestion for your book club. "This Book Made Me Think of You" by Libby Page. A man picks a years worth of books to be given to his wife on the first of every month for a year before he passes away. Set in London and read on Audible by an English woman. WONDERFUL book!

Parenthood is a gift that I am happy you 2 are enjoying. In Glen Burnie MD we are excited about Americas 250.

I’m sad not to be back in my native Philadelphia for this incredible birthday. But my Graduate Hospital residing daughter is coming down for a 5 day 250 visit and pool time. As you know from having lived in Philadelphia, you we can visit any of those places any of the time so I think she’ll probably enjoy being away from the crowds- FIFA included.

Enjoy your time off, all three of you. Stay cool and enjoy the summer.

Hi Sarah! Always good to hear updates! I know you and Chris are soaking up every moment and taking lots of pictures. I’m sure he’s so cute! How are the cats doing? I’m enjoying summer minus the heatwave. Enjoying time with my family and lots of traveling! Please kiss your sweet baby for all of us! You’re looking great! 🫶💗

What a blessed little family you and Chris are building! May God bless all three of you!

I had such a rush of joy when I saw your post pop up in my inbox this morning! Had to work all day so I'm catching up on all your happy news now. So lovely to hear that you're all well and Little Dream Baby is thriving along with his four legged, furry family. Hope you all have a wonderful summer together. We've just had a heatwave here in the UK which wasn't fun (we're not well set up for it here). I'm glad its cooled off again and we can enjoy a gentler warmth and sunshine. Might your overseas trip include the UK? Baby's first fixture at Crystal Palace perhaps? 😂 xxx
