Next time you are in the Philly area, I would love to meet up with you and some of the local peeps. That would be super cool! I, too, have been around since Mr. B was saved and up for adoption. I followed his story closely because he, along with Morris Animal Refuge, was on channel 6 Action News all the time. And then you and Chris came along and yay for Mr. B! He went home with you and the rest is history 🥰
Hi Carole! I touched down in Philly on Friday for just about an hour for my layover. Chris will actually be there next weekend to meet up with a friend and go to two events together. But! I will certainly let you know the next time I think I might be in town! Love that you've been around since the BeeJay days--we miss that big guy all the time but we see every bit of him in Micro and Little Lady.
Seems I'm lucky to be one of your Little Dream Farm followers (fans) who has met you both! Yay for me!! Count me in for that VT or RI get together - and of course I will help in the Ocean State! Xo
Susan you give the BEST hugs and I can't wait to get another hopefully sometime soon!! Would love to see you in either place...I just think we'd have the most fabulous time. I bet you know just the farm I'm thinking of in RI... ;) wouldn't that be so magical!
Love reading and truly feeling the happiness in your Farm Note! Colorado RM high is a real thing. 🌄 Next best thing to the Olympics and Cascades here in WA state! 😉 I’d love to meet up with all y’all in New England - similar to Shelly, if my work schedule cooperates. Thanks for keeping me in the loop! Hope your slide back into everyday life is smooth and pain-free.
The song was in my head the whole day, of course! Ahh and yes! We've got our sights set on a trip to Washington hopefully soon. We keep saying it's probably the only other place we'd move in the country outside of the NY/New England area. I surely will keep you in the loop and would absolutely LOVE to have you!!
If you ever get back Hotlanta way, I am only about an hour north and would LOVE to see you in our town! It would be the perfect place for a get together. Not putting the name out there, but if it ever happens, I will let you know personally and you can take it from there!
Never been to Colorado, so I enjoyed the pics you shared. Someday! It's on our bucket list for sure.
Love that, Sue! Wish we could have had you join us in town during the first meetup - there were a bunch of people after the fact that reached out and said they were close...I gotta plan these further in advance but I never know if I'm going to have the free time or not! Anyhow, certainly I'll let you know if I'm back down that way again! It's possible! And you will LOVE CO! Such a wondrous state!
I love visiting Colorado or any mountain town to see the scenery & fresh air. (I love Mt Washington in NH) I would love to meet up in IRL where ever it will be. I need a break from working in Wash DC to have girl time. I have been following since Mr B and when you & Chris were in Philly. With spring around the corner and the warmer weather it will recharge all of us into a new self. I enjoy these LDF notes every Sunday. I have ventured out solo on a few day trips before. I was planning on one to a garden exhibit to see the flowers bloom. Longwood Gardens in PA is on my list to visit.
We haven't done Mt Washington yet- trying to pick the right time of year to go so it isn't all fog up at the top in the morning! Would love to have you join us - I may have to put together two or three of these just to give everyone a chance to come! That would be so lovely to spend a day at Longwood - I hope you get there, I know its magical at Christmas!
I went in September during covid year 2020 and took the Cog railway in my mask. It was fun and it was clear & warm (unusual time). I went back in March 2024 for my bday weekend and it snowed & very windy and no one was allowed up there. Mt Washington has cameras up there to watch the weather.
So glad to see you looking so happy. I hope the spring continues to take you back to your best health.
I am getting my suitcase out now and would love to meet you and these lovely folks! I live near Phila (all pets from Morris Animal) and would happily meet anywhere’
Eileen thank you! I am thrilled to be feeling so much better and truly can't even believe how far I've come in just a few months. January and February were the darkest days...grateful the sun is shining again both outside and within me. I'll add you to the list and let you know when we make our plan!
So lovely to see you in a happy place - literally and figuratively, Colorado looks stunning. I'd love to meet up IRL one day. Anybody here from the UK too? I was lucky enough to meet some wonderful people from America at my work this week and within just a few minutes I had a card and an invitation to get in touch if I ever visit the Virgin Islands or New York (both now on my bucket list!). It just goes to show that wherever we are in the world, there are so many things we have in common and there are friends just waiting to be made everywhere. I would love to feel more brave, confident and resilient, particularly with travelling on my own. Any tips would be very gratefully received ☺️ Hope you have another great week ahead xxx (p.s. Congratulations to Chris on the Crystal Palace win yesterday 🥳)
Sarah - thank you!! Chris was whooping it up yesterday watching Palace--he's planning to head to London in May if they make it that far! Wonderful you met some great American friends. And my advice to you is exactly what you just said--there are so many things we have in common and there are friends just waiting to be made everywhere. A few ways I feel confident traveling alone--I always make a loose plan and plan to be flexible. I put myself in places and situations that are safe (I was NOT good at this when I was younger!!). I know that I can always stop a stranger and ask for help, and that usually when I do I strike up a wonderful conversation and meet someone lovely! And I focus far less on what could go wrong and instead think about all the wonderful things that will go right. I think the most key thing is to practice doing it...that's how you get more comfortable. I started in college by taking myself out to meals and movies and little walks or mini adventures by myself to get comfortable with being in public alone. Now, I love not needing to wait on anyone because I can just do the things I want to on my own!
Hey girl! Next time you're in Colorado, give me a ring and we can do a little Guam reunion 😊 I live here for good now, and was just in Estes myself on Saturday lol
Fellow solo traveler and adventurer here! I absolutely love traveling by myself too, but I have trouble driving on the highway so anywhere I go, it’s by plane and then I just hike or walk around the little town that I’m in. Or I do Uber or sign up for a tour.
Last year was Jackson Hole and the two years before that were Bozeman and Whitefish, MT. There’s nothing like it!!
I would love to do a meet up with you if you ever make it to Tucson, Arizona! I think the West is calling you!
Tara you sound like you have such a lovely time for yourself - I love that!! I've never been to MT but can't wait to explore it one day!! Chris' dad lives in AZ so I will let you know when I make it out that way!
Hi, Sarah. I’m about 3 hrs north of Atlanta in eastern Tennessee so I would enjoy a future meet up in Atlanta. Or VT or RI. Or anywhere really. I have intense cabin fever!
Isn’t Colorado magnificent? We were there in ‘83 on our way back from Yellowstone. Truly God’s country.
I would love to do a meetup somewhere in New England. As long as my schedule works. Here’s hoping.
I started following you when I was reading Best Friends magazine and saw that you adopted Mr. B. It’s a great legacy of the big boi to have brought so many people together.🥰
Oh very cool I've not yet been to Yellowstone...someday! And yay! Would love to have you. I'm thinking like a Friday-Monday type thing so it's not too long but gives us time to hang. Aww and yes I recall that about Best Friends mag - so fun how we got to do such cool media along the way with Mr. B and the Furmers...feels like a lifetime ago, truly. Glad so many good people stuck around!

It was great meeting you and Jess. The highlight of my week!
You're absolutely lovely. Thank you for the hugs!
I would love a meet up to a farm! Sounds like you have some great ideas for the retreat!
