Hi, Sarah! Reading your words today lifted me up, knowing how much better you are feeling, physically & mentally. I can only imagine the pain you’ve been through. Keep it “slow & steady”.

We are in Easter mode this morning! Our family will be joining us for dinner today. I hope you & Chris enjoy a home cooked meal today & relax with your babies! Happy Easter! 🐰🐣🐇

By the way, 62 days!!! 🥰 Love ya!

So glad that you have turned that first and hardest corner. Unrelenting pain is the worst thing ever. The sheer joy of moving without stabbing pains or being able to do just the tniest thing without gritting your teeth- such a great feeling. Happy Easter to all.💝

Ohhh that's such a good framing - the first and hardest corner. I felt that for sure! And yes, you're so right...once that lets up it's like a whole new world opens up. Happy Easter, friend!

So happy that you are feeling like yourself again! I wrenched my back shoveling icy snow like 10 years ago and when I forget myself - my back reminds me. Your gym plan sounds smart! The weekend sounds so fun.. I'd email for details but your inbox is likely full. I got a late start as I am trying a boneless leg of lamb for the first time today! Wish me luck!

Liz - shoot me a note if you really would like to come. The spot is not taken until someone's travel is confirmed. Never know if something might come up for someone and have to cancel, so I'll keep you in mind, too!! And ugh - hate to hear that for you. That pain can be so scary wondering if you really did a number on yourself or if you're going to heal properly. Sounds like you're mostly good!!

Sarah so happy you are doing better and that you and Chris are enjoying life more. I live with chronic pain and it is a challenge. I have fibromyalgia, neuropathy and an inoperable cyst inside my spinal cord. I am surrounded by loving friends and family and try to live the best possible life in spite of the pain. Take care of yourself my friend

I just wish there was a way to snap my fingers and make that go away for you. I do think if I had a superpower it'd be to take away people's suffering. I understand completely what the pain can do you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually...just beyond the physical. So know that I get you and hope that you find moments of relief and joy and ease in the in betweens.

Glad you are starting to feel better. I was supposed to have knee replacement surgery last month and it got cancelled because the stent in my heart had not been there for a year. So now it will be the end of August at the earliest. I think I mentioned before that I am bone on bone in the right knee. The pain level has gone from a constant 4, 5, 6 to an 8 ,9, 6543187156! And there is nothing I can take for it because of all the heart meds I'm on. So I live with it. Do the best I can do. I really feel it when we have fronts approaching and going through as the barometric pressure changes. I've started using the electric carts when I go shopping. I would get half way done with my shopping and my leg would say, no more, so pride be damned and by the rime I would make it to the front of the store, I'd be in tears. I NEED the cart and there is no shame in that. Gettin' old(er) sure ain;t for sissies!

Sue - hate that your surgery got delayed but glad it's now scheduled and you have something to look forward to. My dad was such a dreadfully stubborn man and he'd never let me push him in a chair or use the carts...he suffered a whole lot more because of his silly pride. SO- I'm so glad to hear you're using the cart. That is so smart of you to choose the way that best supports you not putting yourself in even worse pain. Certainly there's no need for that!! Thinking of you and bet you can't wait until August!

Maria - I'm glad you can take something from it. We're all just trying to figure out how best to live in our own heads, you know?? I keep having to re-learn again and again and again and again to be kind to myself, to give myself grace, to let myself off the hook. I wish that weren't so hard but I like to think the practice through the years has made me so much better overall. I like to think the struggle I've had makes me more empathetic and compassionate towards others. These things seem like little things but I actually think they make the biggest difference.

Thank you! They say for Hashimoto's you really want to avoid NSAIDs because of how tough they are on the gut...and part of healing Hashi's is healing the gut. SO...I had to be completely and totally medication free throughout all of this. That...was quite the trip. I was taking turmeric and curcumin regularly and have a newfound appreciation for the relief I did get from taking it. All our healing tools can be found in food, hydration, sunlight, movement, sleep...I'm so glad I leaned on that first instead of all the heavy drugs my docs kept pushing on me.
