Hi friend! Happy Sunday to ya!
I am back on the farm from my trip to DC and had a wonderful week at the conference I attended, doing a media engagement and flight with the Air Force Hurricane Hunters at Joint Base Andrews, and interacting with my new team.
My travel was easy. The hotel I stayed in was wonderful. There’s a Whole Foods and a great coffee shop nearby. That part of Arlington is super walkable. It’s all just a quick walk over to the Pentagon for work, and while I got very lost on my first day in the building (and ended up in the hallway for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff!) I got my groove as the week went on. I’ll head back there in May for another quick trip.
Meanwhile, back here at home everything was smooth sailing for Chris. Little Lady is now done with her meds and feeling 100 percent back to normal and everyone was (mostly) on their best behavior. I use (mostly) like air quotes, because the animals all do very rotten behavior-type things when I’m not here. I feel like they all know to give Chris a hard time and keep him on his toes when I’m not here. It’s too funny! Do your animals act like that at all?!
Now…I know we haven’t been on social much lately, and if I know y’all then what I have in mind for you for today’s Farm Note is going to put a nice big smile on your faces.
I had this idea while Chris and I were having lunch in Connecticut for our Adventure Saturday.
It’s quick. It’s simple. It’s everyone you haven’t seen in a while!
Here’s a quick compilation of the Girlies, the Buggos, the Furmers, and of course, Chris and I…all the faces here on the LDF.
From all of us here on the LDF, we love you and hope you’re enjoying every bit of your weekend. Oh, and of course, hope this one makes you smile! 😁😁😁
As soon as we got home from our adventure in Connecticut I bopped around and took all these photos…it was fun getting them so I hope you enjoyed getting to see everyone’s adorable faces. Give this post a heart at the bottom if you did!
We’re ready for some warmer weather this week, watching everything bursting alive, and getting to spend lots more time outside, together. Can’t wait to catch up with you next weekend to tell you all about it!
Sending you love until then!
For the someone who needs to hear it:
You know that thing you’re avoiding? You’ll feel so much better—it’ll fix up all the ruminating and overthinking and angst you’ve got up in your head—when you just begin…when you just do the thing you keep putting off.
We recently upgraded our litter boxes to brand new ones since we’d had the old ones for many years. This style checks all my boxes for what makes the best cat litter box. We remove the swinging door entirely - you don’t want your cat to have to crawl in and out with that thing catching their tail or smacking them in the behind as they get in/out. We’ve had the new ones for a month now and they’re here to stay! We use these litter catcher mats outside the box which work really well. And we use this litter and can’t say enough good things about it—no dust, no toxic smells or perfumes, clumps perfectly (don’t get the lightweight, it’s not the same and does not perform as well).
My skin is the clearest, smoothest, and most balanced it has been in all my life. There are a lot of factors to that—mostly diet, hydration, and a few supplements I’m taking, but I did add one thing to my skincare routine and have been loving the results—it’s this facial scrub and I’m going to share it with the caveat that I only use it once per week or every other week and I very gently scrub my face with it in the shower towards the very end of my shower for about 3 minutes on my entire face. It sloughs off dead skin, smooths your face, and definitely brightens. Would you like me to do an in-depth roll up of my health/wellness routine? Shout it out in the comments and I’ll start rounding up the stuff!
