When you said “hot date” I sure didn’t imagine this! Ha! What a beautiful experience! I loved the dishes. Now the food was out of my comfort zone… I know, I should try new things. The dessert looked delicious! Enjoy your day with Chris! 🫶🏼
Haha just a cheeky little phrase for a night out with a gal pal! I think you would have had so much fun trying some of these things! But there’s absolutely nothing wrong with knowing what you like and sticking with that, too!!
I love that you noticed that! It has been many things over the years and has had many lives as a village store and cafe. Can’t wait to see some of the photos the owner is getting from the town historian. I bet they’ll be amazing!
Simply a feast for the eyes(for us readers anyway ;)- Love reading about your little sweet town and of course, Love hearing about all the variety of animals. I hope you are feeling well and it is nice to hear the smile in your voice again- I know it's not always 100 to be 100...and that's perfectly ok. Love and hugs to you and the farmily<3
Thank you so much for that - I do feel so much more like myself again. It's been about 16 weeks now so it feels like forever but healing is going well!!
Dinner looks AMAZING! I would have eaten everything on the menu. Hubby and I are foodies and will try anything once. We love warmed olives. I buy the unpitted Castelvetrano and Kalamata olives (we think they taste better than the pitted when warmed!) and warm them in a small sauce pot with olive oil, rosemary, salt and fresh cracked black pepper to your taste. While that is warming, I slice a Baguette and rub a garlic clove over the slices and toast under the broiler til golden. Take it from one who knows, DO NOT walk away when the bread is toasting! It goes from golden to charcoal the instant you walk away!! Then pop an olive, take a bite of bread. Just remember the pits!
Yes I am the same way - always love to experiment and sample and give something a try!! The way she did these olives was divine...they even had zested orange on top and that added such a lovely flavor--they were also whole olives as you mentioned, which I do think was better. Love your suggestion with a gorgeous warmed crusty bread--yum!
What a beautiful experience! The ambience looked absolutely amazing! The plates and the way the table was decorated are so pretty. Reminds me of The Lost Kitchen. The menu looked delicious. I am happy you and your friend had a lovely time.
Yesss that will make the owner so happy to hear that—she’s a big Erin French fan herself. Really gotta get myself out there to that part of Maine and visit her market sometime. It’s quite a hike from us but would love to experience it!
Yesss! Everything she brings to this cafe just glows with her creativity. Our little village really needed a good gathering place and she’s absolutely the right fit. We’re so lucky to have such a gem of a cafe…and the best lattes too!!
This cafe giving me the coziest vibe even through my laptop screen hahah.

I figured it was hot yoga. This story was so much better!😆
That looks amazing! I love to do this kind of thing. The cafe looks like an old fashioned apothecary shop. ❤️

That all looks so good! The company, the food - those dishes!!!! I dream of a lovely mismatched lunch with my friends one day!
