Ugh so sorry about your week with the hens. I hear they are very hard to have and like you said, usually when something bubbles up it is a race of the clock. Hope the kitties feel better soon. Have a nice time with your new unit! Keeping options open is always good!

Thanks so much Carrie!! Glad we got LL to a good spot before I left so we didn’t have to be so worried about her with me leaving. Her energy is better today. Looking forward to some time in the city!

Oh Sarah, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve lost 3 hens this past week. I know how hard it is to loose them. Raising chickens is a lot harder than I ever knew until learning that from your stories.

Keep your options open for a move if the right place comes available! You two are so young. So many possibilities are out there. I wish you both luck finding a place for more joy!

Hopefully BK gets rid of those nasty worms! Ugh! I hope by the time you head back home from D.C., all the previous issues are over.

Be safe in your travels, Sarah. Love ya, lady! 🫶🏼

Check out the comment I made to Deb above- it’s such an odd thing that we go through and probably not the norm!! It’s so frustrating because we work hard to keep them in good health…somehow there’s still a missing piece!!

I’m so sorry for the rough week and the loss of more hens 😔 I’m continually shocked by how hard it is to keep them. I really thought they were a take care of themselves type. Hope LL is on the mend. 🙏🏻 Good luck on your work week, I know you will rock it!

You know, we talk to SO many people that have hens who don’t experience ANY of the issue we are having! In fact, I just talked to a couple on a plane a few weeks ago that said they never lost hens to health issues but always to predators. So…we’ve definitely got something unusual going on and still have yet to find what the heck our issue is! We’ve talked about changing breeds and hatcheries as well, wondering if that has something to do with it!

Such a hectic week. Sad that you have suffered so much hardship in one week. The dreams of new houses and farms are what keep us going through it all- don't lose those too! Enjoy DC and the new adventure..spring is a beautiful time to be there

I LOVE the idea that we have a “plan” but often there’s a much better one out there than we’ve even envisioned. So we’re keeping our minds and eyes and hearts open for when we feel the next tug come along!!

Sounds like quite the week!! My cat has been a bit off this week, have noticed she hadn’t been going to the toilet - turns out she has a UTI!

Not heartbroken re you looking at places! If it suits you better and keeps you happy, then go for it!
