I live part-time in Maine and there is a peony farm quite close to where I am. Maybe you have a specific reason for going to Alaska, but if you would like to be connected with this place as an alternative, please say.
Thank you! I'd love that. Feel free to email me directly at bergsteinsarah@gmail.com or shoot me a message on Insta--would love to see how close they are to us!
I can totally relate! In the last 10 weeks I’ve had a very expensive water leak under my house, 2 window dings on my windshield, a diabetic cat, a roof problem with a 6 year old roof, a refrigerator unknowingly stop working and due to the dead fridge…the same cat mentioned earlier ended up with food poisoning because I was so busy helping a family member out that I wasn’t home much for 4 days so I didn’t know the fridge was on it’s way out. All of this while having the work extra hours because the company I work for was having it’s anniversary sale (REI). Thousands of dollars spent. Ugh. But just like you I got through it! The leak is fixed, my kitty is no longer diabetic and she recovered from the food poisoning after a few days, lots of stress and worry and a few thousand dollars in vet visits, the roof is fixed, there’s a new fridge in my kitchen and a repaired windshield on my car. Whew! Life sure can throw a lot at you at once. I absolutely love reading your farm notes and watching my Insta feed for all the goings on at your sweet farm. When something difficult happens on your side of the country I feel it on my side. Same with the wonderful things! Thank you for sharing your days with me ☺️
Oh my goodness you had a few of THOSE kinds of months! It truly does sometimes come all at once and I try to remind myself in those times we're not given more than we can handle...I really believe that, even if it can be almost unbearable when you're in the middle of it. Glad to hear that things are on the up and up even though the bank account is the worse for it. Thanks for your kind words and for hanging out with us--it means a lot more than we can put into words. <3
I took my dad to a minor league baseball game yesterday ( Saturday) . At first I bought tickets for Friday nights game rather than Saturday. I couldn’t exchange them so I had buy another two tickets for Saturdays game . 🤦🏻♀️
Noooo! This is all too familiar to me. When I was a teen my mom had bought us tickets to see James Taylor with two of her other girlfriends. We got to the venue and the parking lot was very mysteriously empty but for some reason we didn't even notice it...we pulled through to pay for parking to have the teller inform us the concert was the day prior--missed it entirely! We went out to eat, had an afternoon full of laughs so hard our bellies hurt and made the best of the mixup. Many years later I got to take my mom to see James Taylor, only this time I double-triple checked the calendar so she was sure to see him! :)
I definitely had an unexpected event in my life. One of my unspayed feral cats had kittens on April1/2. On May 2nd we found her dead in the street outside our house. We knew the kittens were on our property but didn’t know where. I went searching the next day and found a litter of 5 kittens in a bushy area on the side of the house. I took some wet cat food out to them and they were starvin’ Marvins! We put a Ring Camera at the entrance of their little home and and after several days the only animal that came near them was a possum. We had been feeding them all along so we made the decision to bring them indoors. They were healthy but one of the males had a bad eye infection which lead to him losing his eye. Now I have 9 indoor cats so keeping them was out of the question. We
tried to find homes in the area where we live, but no go. My daughter that lives in NY state came to visit last week and posted their photos and story. The end result was they found homes very quickly! My daughter flew back to NY with 2 of the babies and they got to go to their new homes. My daughter that lives with me is flying up August 2nd with 2 more. One of them is staying with my NY daughter. The little one eyed boy is staying with us since We already have a one eyed boy cat. I guess I will have 10 indoor cats but that’s okay. Thank goodness I have an easy going husband who loves cats! I’ve gotten all my outdoor ferals fixed except for 2 females. Arlington has a free feral clinic for fixing cats so we’re going to take them to that next month. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. 😊
