Such cute little critters! I can't wait until you have these babies at LDF.
As a gardening reference I recommend a website called Dave's Garden. Lots of info on each plant including USDA hardiness, light requirements, etc. Also included is input from readers on their experience with the plants and their photos.
Lots of informative articles from the editors, too.
Well, well, this note deserved more than one big cup of coffee! How interesting! Here, we clearly see this comparing chickens you buy in the city (they are big, but full of water, no taste) with farm chickens (these are tasty and consistent). Massive breeding at the expense of quality...
The sheeps look so adorable! I understand you need them to favor your soil... and the landscape! 😄 so sweet! You are making the world a better place!
Thanks for reading and hanging with us. And yes you definitely notice the difference in taste, quality, size, etc. from mass-produced, factory farm meat, to sourcing proteins from smaller farms. It's amazing when you can find sources to buy local where possible!
They are way too cute! Never heard of the breed but now I want one 😂! Hope you guys have volunteer work days this summer so we can visit and help at the same time….!
Not that cuteness is a contest... but come on! These sheep are SO cute! Thanks for giving us something to look forward to! And hopefully you'll get the warm up we are promised very soon.
Liz - if it were a contest these little babes would blow it out of the water! They're so adorable when they hop all around just full of bliss! They can't not make you smile!
Such exciting times ahead! Those sheep look adorable - I can definitely see why you chose them for the LDF. Biodiversity is such an important topic. I was reading about a book called 'Eating to Extinction' which focuses on loss of food diversity. On the face of it we have more choice of food products than ever but really these choices are coming from fewer and less diverse staple crops. Has anyone else heard of the Bananapocalypse? Have a great week everyone 😊
Sarah thanks for sharing this book recommendation. I haven't read it but will look into it. I read The Omnivore's Dilemma last year and was horrified and fascinated all the same.

Sue thank you for this recommendation!
They are so cute! This is exciting! 😊🐑 will you ever open the farm to the public or keep it private?
We haven't decided yet! I think when we have more to see and do here we may consider that!
